3D Modeling and design
Here is a snip of a feed and registration conveyor. Designed from scratch, it aligns thick paper to a registered edge for further processing in packaging machinery.

The rollers are offset so that the paper can be fed in from two locations and also be automatically aligned. After going through scoring rolls it is folded and bent.

All of the parts and assemblies were detailed and stepAP214 files produced for CNC manufacturing.
Concept Design
Above is a concept sketch used to propose an idea for a seat tester.

The tester has two weights that are used to validate airbag sensors in car seats. The client built and sold numerous testers to his customer.

The colour sketch shows a programmable indexing positioning table that will adjust to a walking beam feed system.

The drawings were done freehand on paper. This approach saves costly cad modeling time to get the idea across for approval.

Stress Checking and Simulation
3D Cad models often have to be checked to see if they will withstand the forces imposed on them. SolidWorks Simulation software is used to assign material properties to the model and the anticipated forces.

Once the simulation runs, you can see what will happen and create a report showing the expected behaviour and high stress and deformation locations.

This screen model is a good example of a steel welded and perforated assembly subjected to some substantial forces.
